Schoolteachers block road in protest

KARAK: The All Primary Teachers Association (APTA) Karak chapter took out a rally on Sunday to protest against the recent service structure announced by the provincial government. The protesting teachers blocked the Karak-Bannu Road at Baz Muhammad Chowk for traffic to press for the acceptance of their demands. District President of the association Usmanullah Khattak, Javed Iqbal Khattak, Fareed Khan and Saeed Arif led the protest. The protesters rejected the recently announced service structure and said the right procedure for promotions to higher scales for the primary teacher should be included in the new service structure. They set a 10-day deadline for the government to accept their demands or else they would close the primary schools across the district and court arrest in protest. The news
