Fata teachers seek upgradation

HANUG:May 10: The All Fata Teachers Association on Monday took out protest rally for upgradation and promotion of the teachers in Hangu. The protest held outside the Orakzai Agency headquarters that has been temporarily established in Hangu, was led by Feroz Khan, Jannat Khan, Ihsan and Sarwar Shah. The protesters were carrying banners and placards chanted slogans against the government for not upgrading and promoting the teachers of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). Speaking on the occasion, they said that like others parts of the country, teachers in Fata should be provided same perks and privileges. “The Fata teachers should be upgraded and promoted as their counterparts had been upgraded in Khyber Pakhtun-khwa,” Feroz Khan said, adding that discrimination with teachers belonging to tribal areas would not be tolerated. They said all schools in Fata would remain closed until the government issued notification of their upgradation of pay scale.
