Islamabad:April 25: The Federal Directorate of Education is set to have a cell to coordinate Islamabad’s education reforms initiative, watched over by the prime minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz. According to senior FDE official Professor M Tariq Masood, who was made the Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Programme coordinator of late, the Capital Administration and Development Division is in the process of establishing a fully functional Coordination Cell at the directorate. “The terms of reference of the cell shall be to coordinate with all stakeholders and relevant government agencies (on education reforms), and keep an up-to-date record for the information of the minister of state for CADD as well as the prime minister,” he said. Professor Tariq asked all partner institutions of the programme to route all correspondence on education reforms through him. He said in case of emergency, the programme’s officials, including Deputy Director Hasan lmran Baig and Assistant Director Nadeem Taj could be contacted. The coordinator said the education reforms programme had been launched in Islamabad Capital Territory keeping in view the government’s commitment towards provision of quality education to the local residents and to make the capital’s education system a role model for the rest of the country.The news.
