MNA to move court against FMDC quota

Islamabad:March 01:PML-N MNA Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced to move the court against the 10 per cent quota in Federal Medical and Dental College for Islamabad residents declaring it discriminatory. “The government has played a cruel joke with students of my city by offering them only 10 per cent seats in the newly-established medical college. I will raise my voice against this discrimination against locals in the National Assembly and challenge it in the court of law, too, for relief,” said Tariq, who represents Islamabad’s rural areas in the National Assembly, on Wednesday. The MNA said FMDC was the federal capital’s first medical and dental educational institutions and local students had the first right of admission to it. He said Islamabad students had no separate quota in the countrywide medical and dental colleges but ironically, FMDC had 90 per cent seats for all provinces. The news.
