PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has urged the students to focus their attention on education and get themselves prepared to cope with the challenges of future, adding that students are the future of the nation and as such they should have only one aim in their mind i.e. acquisition of knowledge; and must not waste their precious time in unnecessary activities.He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at the annual function of Frontier Model School Peshawar on Saturday. He urged the students to actively participate in co-curricular activities as these are as important for students. Promotion of education was the top most priority of the present provincial government and that was why the provincial government was taking steps to provide free education upto intermediate classes in public sector schools besides monthly stipends are also given to female students which have substantially increased the literacy rate in the province, khan said. He said that the nation was passing through a difficult age due to increasing militancy and terrorism in the society; and the root cause of militancy and terrorism was illiteracy, hence the present government is taking steps to provide free education to the public. Congratulating the school management for its outstanding result in matric examination, the provincial minister said that the school is providing standard education to the student on a very reasonable fee structure which is highly appreciable. Addressing the function, Principal of the school highlighted the curricular and co-curricular activities of the school. At the end the chief guest gave away trophies, shields and cash prizes to the student with outstanding performance in curricular and extra curricular activities of the school.F.P.Report.
