Allama Iqbal Open University to start online classes

Islamabad :January 02: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will start online classes of Computer Science in Umerkot and DG Khan regions from January 8, announced Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi after laying foundation stone of the construction of ‘Bachelor and Foreign Faculty Hostel’ at the university. The hostel would be constructed in an area of 43000sft involving a cost of Rs139 million. The 5-story building would be completed in 21 months. He said education is the backbone of success and progress because without education a nation can’t stand properly. He said that regional campuses and model study centres are being set up while ‘Educate a Child’, the target to register one million children through the scheme would be achieved by June next, he said. AIOU, he said has been utilizing all potential and resources to expand and strengthening educational network in the country.
